Nelson Havi, the former President of the Law Society of Kenya, recently took to X to call for fair recognition of past leadership achievements in infrastructure while proposing ambitious future developments.
In a post accompanied by photos and a video from a drive along a modern Kenyan highway, Havi urged Kenyans to give credit where it is due.
He praised former President Uhuru Kenyatta for delivering significant transport infrastructure, including extensive road networks and the iconic Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), which transformed connectivity during his tenure.
Havi contrasted this with a direct appeal to the current administration under President William Ruto.
He recommended prioritizing the construction of a dual carriageway from Nairobi to Soy, passing through Eldoret, to enhance efficiency along this vital corridor linking the capital to western Kenya and beyond.

With a touch of political ambition, Havi added humorously that he would “pick up from there to Malaba in 2032,” implying his potential leadership in the future to complete the route to the Ugandan border.
He concluded by dismissing the current affordable housing efforts as “kipindi” (insignificant or temporary).
The post highlights ongoing debates in Kenya about infrastructure priorities, legacy projects from the Kenyatta era, and expectations for Ruto’s government amid announcements of major road dualling and SGR extensions toward Malaba.

Havi’s message blends appreciation, critique, and forward-looking vision in Kenya’s evolving transport landscape.
