Nancy Pelosi, the former House Speaker, is one of the top critics of President Donald Trump. She has been hitting hard at Trump and his administration and today, things were not different. Â
Through her official X account, Pelosi sharply condemned President Donald Trump as she dropped a message about Black History Month.
She described a recent social media action by Trump as a “vile insult” directed at former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama.
The controversy stemmed from a video Trump shared on Truth Social, which depicted the Obamas with their faces superimposed on primates (often referred to as “apes” or “monkeys” in reports), accompanied by music.
This imagery drew widespread outrage for invoking a longstanding racist trope that dehumanizes Black people.
The post remained online for over 12 hours before removal amid bipartisan backlash, including criticism from Republican Senator Tim Scott, who called it “the most racist thing” seen from the White House.

Civil rights groups and Democrats demanded an apology, labeling it dehumanizing and particularly offensive during Black History Month—a time dedicated to honoring Black contributions and advancing justice.
In her statement, Pelosi emphasized that Black History Month serves as “a call to justice.” She criticized the use of the Oval Office to spread “filth” and reassured Americans, especially young people, that the “vast majority” of the country supports and uplifts Black communities despite such rhetoric.
Accompanied by a photo of Obama and herself at the U.S. Capitol, her message underscored solidarity amid division.

The incident highlighted persistent political tensions and debates over racism in public discourse.
