Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has issued a strong call to leaders and residents of Kenya’s Western region to cease internal political squabbles and rally behind the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
In a recent address, Mudavadi emphasized the urgency of unity, warning that prolonged debates and divisions could allow the region to be politically sidelined or “overtaken” by others while arguments persist.
“Here in Western, we are still asking questions when I tell you to unite and join UDA. We shall be overtaken while we are still arguing,” he stated firmly.
The Prime CS, who previously led the Amani National Congress (ANC) before merging it into UDA, urged the region to speak with one voice under the ruling party.

He argued that aligning with UDA would strengthen Western Kenya’s influence in national government decisions and position it better for future leadership opportunities ahead of the 2027 elections.
Mudavadi’s remarks come amid shifting political landscapes in Western Kenya, where leaders face pressure to consolidate support for the ruling coalition.
He encouraged mass enrollment in UDA, portraying it as the most viable vehicle for regional and national advancement.

This push reflects broader efforts to solidify UDA’s grassroots presence in key regions as political realignments intensify.
