Political commentator Pauline Njoroge has raised concerns over what she describes as excessive and questionable expenditure at the Office of the President.
Her reaction follows revelations flagged by the Controller of Budget (COB), which reported that President William Ruto’s office spent billions on advisors and daily printing services.
According to Njoroge, State House reportedly used Ksh. 1 billion on advisors. She calculated that if the President had 30 advisors, each would be earning approximately Ksh. 2.7 million per month, translating to around Ksh. 91,000 daily.
“That’s pocketing unimaginable sums every single day,” she wrote.
Even more striking, she noted, was the COB’s finding that the office spent Ksh. 2.2 million daily on printing.
Assuming each coloured page costs Ksh. 10, this would mean the government is printing about 220,000 pages per day.
Njoroge sarcastically suggested that State House may have turned into a publishing house, humorously proposing a possible bestseller title: “How to Loot a Nation: A Daily Manual from State House Press.”

Citizen TV Kenya also highlighted the COB report, which flagged wastage amounting to Ksh. 800 million in printing and Ksh. 1 billion on advisors.
The revelations have fueled fresh criticism over government spending priorities.
