After the 2022 general election, some of the top leaders who used to criticize President William Ruto started shifting camp and joined the Head of State. Things even got better for Ruto after his ‘handshake’ with Raila Odinga, a move that left many supporters of Baba rallying behind the Commander in Chief.
One of the leaders who was a top critic of Ruto and is now supporting the President fully is Francis Atwoli. The COTU boss has been praising Ruto publicly but his recent remarks left many Kenyans with plenty to ponder.
While talking to Jeff Koinange during Citizen TV’s JK Live show, Francis Atwoli gave Kalonzo Musyoka’s 2027 presidential ambition a boost as he publicly showered the Wiper Party leader with praises.
According to Atwoli, Kalonzo Musyoka is a good man. The COTU secretary general maintained that Kalonzo can be trusted and although he can not be a good leader of opposition, he can make a good President. Atwoli finished by throwing things at the hands of Kenyans as he claimed that if Kenyans want, they can elect Kalonzo as their President.
“After Raila Odinga, there is no opposition in Kenya. Kalonzo Musyoka is a good man and it is I who told Raila to let Kalonzo Musyoka be the leader of the opposition. This is a good man, he is a diplomat, he is a person who can be a priest, he can be a person who can pray for anybody, he is a man that you can trust with whatever you have. But he is not best suited to say that he is the person who can be the leader of the opposition in this country. If Kenyans want, he can be the president.” Said Francis Atwoli.
