Lawyer and political commentator Wahome Thuku has openly declared that he would vote for Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, popularly known as Riggy G, if he appears on the presidential ballot.
In a strongly worded statement on Facebook, Thuku emphasized his commitment to back Gachagua, even if critics argue that doing so would indirectly benefit President William Ruto’s political ambitions.
Thuku stated that his decision would not be influenced by tribal considerations but by loyalty to his region and party leadership.

“If I am a tribalist today having voted for Baba in 2027, I would like to be called a proper one in 2028,” Thuku wrote, stressing that his support would reflect both political alignment and regional pride.
His remarks have sparked widespread debate online, with many interpreting them as a strong signal of shifting political alignments within Mt. Kenya.
The statement also highlights the growing speculation about Gachagua’s potential bid for the presidency in the next general election.
