Kari Lake, a prominent advisor to President Donald Trump, has reacted strongly to the recent arrest of a former Voice of America staffer accused of threatening Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Lake emphasized the seriousness of the case, saying, “This is true. And while he is innocent until proven guilty—if the court finds him guilty—I hope the sentence is harsh. No elected official should have to live in fear. No one should have to endure death threats.”
Her remarks follow a report detailing the arrest of Seth Jason, a former veteran employee of the federally funded news outlet Voice of America.
Jason is accused of making multiple threats to kill Rep. Greene, her family, and her staff.

The alleged threats have sparked outrage among conservative circles, with many calling for greater accountability and security for public officials.
According to online sources, Jason had reportedly removed most of his online presence, including photos, in the lead-up to his arrest.
However, some images were still retrieved and circulated as part of the investigation.
Kari Lake’s firm stance underscores a broader concern over rising political tensions and threats targeting elected officials across the country.
As the case proceeds, it is likely to fuel renewed debates around political extremism, safety in public service, and the responsibilities of media-affiliated individuals.
Authorities have not yet disclosed a motive, and the investigation remains ongoing. Jason will face due process in court in the coming weeks.
