Kitui Senator and Senate Deputy Minority Leader Enoch Kioi Wambua has sharply criticized recent remarks by Jubilee Party’s Deputy Party Leader, dismissing them as an attempt to reassert control over the Kamba community ahead of the 2027 elections.
In statements reported by local dailies, the Jubilee leader reportedly admitted he was “not ready for boardroom talks and negotiations,” comments that Wambua described as a deliberate tactic.
The Kitui senator accused the remarks of being designed to micromanage the Kamba voting bloc once more, urging the community not to forget past experiences.
Wambua’s rebuttal, shared in a public address captured by KBC Channel 1, frames the Jubilee figure’s position as lacking seriousness in engaging opposition coalitions or United Opposition structures meaningfully.
He suggested it reflects unpreparedness for the strategic negotiations needed to challenge the incumbent in 2027, while positioning Matiang’i’s ambitions as potentially misdirected.
This exchange highlights growing tensions within opposition circles, particularly over influence in the Ukambani region—a key battleground.

As 2027 approaches, with Jubilee having endorsed Matiang’i as its presidential flagbearer earlier, such public spats underscore divisions on how to unify anti-Ruto forces and court the Kamba vote effectively.
