The passing of Hon. Timothy Kilonzo, affectionately known as “Mayor,” has left the political and community landscape of Machakos County in mourning.
Through his official X account, Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred N. Mutua expressed profound sadness over the loss of his friend and colleague.
Hon. Kilonzo served as the last Mayor of the defunct Machakos Municipal Council before the transition to the county system.
He later became the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for the Muvuti/Kiima-Kimwe Ward. A dedicated public servant and staunch supporter of the Maendeleo Chap Chap Party (MCC), he was renowned for his humility, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to putting Machakos residents first.
Dr. Mutua highlighted Kilonzo’s passion for community service and development, which positively impacted many lives.
His leadership fostered progress and unity in the region, earning him respect across political divides.
