Kiambu MP Gathoni Wamuchomba accused a close confidant of Governor Kimani Wamatangi of funneling looted funds from county hospitals into political campaigns.
The post highlights an incident in Ndundu village, Gatundu South, as Wamuchomba aimed a dig at Rigathi Gachagua as she referred to him as a “conman” from the “masikio party”.
According to Wamuchomba, Gachagua pledged KSh 1 million to a bereaved family but failed to deliver.
The next day, Wamatangi’s ally, who allegedly secured most ECDE construction tenders irregularly and chairs the “looted” Gatundu Hospital board, handed over the cash on camera.
Wamuchomba questions if misappropriated hospital funds are funding “Wamunyoro’s mlima campaigns,” referring to political activities linked to impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
She notes the confidant recently cleared debts to Kenya Forest Service for a hotel in Mt. Kenya forest, mocking the governor’s “witch hunt” cries amid probes.

This comes amid ongoing corruption scandals plaguing Wamatangi. The EACC has sued him and associates to recover KSh 813 million in tender graft, with courts freezing related accounts.
Wamatangi was arrested in April 2025 over a Sh1.27 billion scandal, though supporters and MCAs defend him, alleging political persecution.
Recent demolitions of his businesses near Nyayo Stadium have fueled “witch hunt” claims, with critics pointing to his perceived independence from the ruling coalition.

Wamuchomba’s post, ending with a humorous call to “repent on Sunday,” underscores deepening rifts in Mt. Kenya politics, where corruption allegations intersect with 2027 election maneuvering.
